My Story

Casey For the People of District Two

Born the daughter of a truck driver, I saw more of this country at a young age than most… oceans, deserts, mountains, and the people who make up every corner of it. What stayed with me most wasn’t just the landscape, but the stories. At truck stops, and even picking up a few hitchhikers along the way, I learned that every person has a story worth hearing.

I also saw how the trucking community showed up for one another, always willing to help, always having each other’s backs. That’s where I learned a lasting lesson: no matter who you are or where you are, there will always be someone who needs help.

For the past fifteen years, I’ve worked in rural healthcare, serving communities across Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri. I’ve seen firsthand the gaps in access to care, and I’ve worked to find solutions, expanding services so patients didn’t have to travel hours just to get the care they need.

No one asked me to take on those challenges, but I did. And I learned that problem solving, and showing up when it matters, is one of my greatest strengths.
